Local Value-Added Ag Business Hosts First KCBS BBQ Event in Helena Area
Gov. Gianforte Proclaims 2023 East Helena Smoke Show BBQ an Official State BBQ Championship
EAST HELENA, Mont. – Value-Added Ag business and brewery, Missouri River Brewing Co., is hosting the first Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) sanctioned BBQ event in the greater Helena area. Governor Greg Gianforte today proclaimed the 2023 East Helena Smoke Show BBQ an official Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event and official state BBQ championship.
The 2023 East Helena Smoke Show BBQ Competition is Saturday, August 5th and Sunday, August 6th (Competition from 11 am-5 pm), at the Missouri River Brewing Co. in East Helena, MT. This event came from the minds of Russ Radliff, Will Israel, and Adam Hutchinson as a way of bringing the community and family together over food and drink.
"The East Helena Smoke Show is our 1st annual KCBS sanctioned fundraising event. Missouri River Brewing Co. and Impact Montana have joined forces to bring something exciting and fresh to the town of East Helena whole supporting Montana veterans and 1st responders. A weekend of family-friendly fun with food, music, and beer. We look forward to having more events in the future that will, like always, bring something good back to the community," said Adam Hutchinson, co-owner of Missouri River Brewing Co.
This "Master Series" KCBS event, local chicken, pork ribs, pork butt, and brisket will be judged with cash prizes up to $9,000. All proceeds will go to Impact Montana to support service members, veterans, first-responders, and their families.
