Growth Through Agriculture Grant & Loan Program Requesting Proposals for FY2026

The Montana Department of Agriculture is announcing the opening of the FY2026 funding cycle for the Growth Through Agriculture (GTA) program. Montana's interested in innovating or expanding agricultural businesses are invited to apply for funds through the state grant and  loan program.

Pre-applications for funding open October 10, 2025 and are due November 10, 2025. Selected proposals from pre-applicants will be invited to submit a full application for funding in December. Information on submitting a pre-application, program guidelines, FAQs, and previously funded projects can be viewed on the GTA web page. Applicants may apply for grants up to $50,000 and loans up to $100,000. Examples of eligible project types cover business expansion, commercialization, and promotional, including but not limited to expenses such as equipment, supplies and materials, and consult services. 

Those needing assistance are encouraged to contact their local Food and Agriculture Development Centers.

AgCorps is a state AmeriCorps program administered by the Montana Department of Agriculture. AgCorps aims to improve the capacity of partner organizations to meet their mission, grow collaborations, provide effective programming, and create resilient, healthy, safe, and engaged communities in Montana. This program is also designed to serve rural and underfunded school districts in Montana that require more accessibility to Ag literacy materials.
