Young Ag Couples Deadline Approaches
HELENA, Mont. — Nominations are being sought for couples to attend the 27th annual Young Ag Couples Conference scheduled January 3-6, 2007 in Helena, says Nancy K. Peterson, director of the Montana Department of Agriculture.
The department sponsors the conference in cooperation with Montana agricultural organizations, which have been asked to submit the names of nominees by December 1, 2006. The conference will be held at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel. Conference participants are exposed to topics including current agricultural issues, as well as communication and leadership skills.
"Agriculture in Montana requires a global perspective. We need to encourage young leaders to speak on behalf of our industry, both to the public and to elected leaders regarding agricultural opportunities, trends and legislative priorities," Peterson said.
To qualify, couples must be actively engaged in agriculture or agribusiness.
