Ag Products Showcase Slated at Capitol
HELENA, Mont. — More than 100 Montana agricultural
products including grain, dairy, produce, beef,
pork and personal care products will be displayed
March 21 and 22 when the Montana Department of Agriculture
hosts the Montana Agriculture Showcase in the Capitol
rotunda.
The showcase celebrates the diversity of Montana's
agricultural industry and offers the public and
legislators a chance to view the bounty of our state's
largest industry, says Nancy K. Peterson, director
of the Montana Department of Agriculture.
Each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., a range of food and beverages will be available for tasting. Among the items are bread, milk, smoked fish, lefse, bacon, coffee, meat snacks, cereal and cherry products. Other agricultural products on display will include luffa sponges, lotions, soaps and wool products.
A highlight of the showcase will be products from companies that have been assisted in marketing or development by the Montana Growth Through Agriculture program. Whoopup Creek Luffas, Glendive; Montana Mountain Smoke, Montana City; Granrud's Lefse, Opheim; Cream of the West, Harlowton; Sugar Loaf Wool Carding Mill, Hall; Amaltheia Dairy, Belgrade; and Orchard at Flathead Lake, Bigfork, will all feature value-added products.
Other companies offering samples include: Wheat Montana Farms & Bakery, Three Forks; Darigold Country Classics Dairy, Bozeman; John R. Daily's, Missoula; Montana Coffee Traders, Whitefish; Montana Bounty Foods, Kalispell; and Chalet Market, Belgrade.
