Export Workshops Offered Throughout Montana
HELENA, Mont. — The Montana Department of Agriculture and the Montana Department of Commerce are offering five one-and-a-half-day workshops during the coming months on export marketing and logistics.
The workshops have been developed to assist Montana companies that are current exporters, are in the process of expanding into foreign markets, or are considering export opportunities.
The workshops will be held in computer labs, offering participants the opportunity to work directly on aspects of marketing including: determining export readiness; identifying export markets and product demand; developing an export marketing plan; selling to foreign markets; and managing export sales.
Technical components covered during the workshops will include: the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA); certificates of origin; export licensing; international commercial trade terms (Incoterms); quoting and sales contracts; and export documentation.
One-week advance notice from companies is required. Early registration is encouraged since space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Locations the workshop will be held are:
- Missoula - University of Montana, August 19, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and August 20, 8 a.m. to noon.
- Havre - MSU Northern, October 7, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and October 8, 8 a.m. to noon.
