Nursery
Fee Requirements:
$95.00 - Annual License (gross annual sales of $3,000 or more)
$30.00 - Annual License (gross annual sales of $1,000 - $3,000 Notarized affidavit required.)
$25.00 - Late Fee (failure to renew license by annual anniversary date)
$25.00 - New location fee for a new business
$50.00 - Annual Nursery Certification (by request)
$23 or $50 - Phytosanitary Certificate (by request)
$0.15 - Nursery Tag
No fee - Nursery Exemption when gross annual sales are $1,000 or less (Notarized affidavit required)
Pesticide Applicator and Dealer
Fees:
$55.00 per year for dealer license
$25.00/operator (first 2 operators)
$10.00/operator (after first 2 operators)
$25.00 late fee after March 1st
Pesticide Applicators
Fee: $55.00 per year
Government Applicators
Fees: $60.00 - first four licenses per agency.
$15.00 - each additional applicator up to $600 annually per agency
Farm Applicators
Fees: $50.00 for a five year license
Pesticide Registration
Fee: $185.00 per product
Produce Licenses
Fees:
Annual Dealer License - $50.00 per place of business, including vehicles
Quarterly Assessment - $0.06 per unit distributed
Shipping Point Inspection - All produce $0.075 per unit. $0.20 per tag for inspection tags, $20.00 minimum for inspections.
Seed Licenses
Fees:
$55.00 - Seed Dealer located in Montana
$110.00 - Out-of-State Seed Dealer
$55.00 - In-state or out-of-state seller of turf grass seed only
$55.00 - In-state or out-of-state labeler whose company name appears on the seed label
$55.00 - A facility that conditions seed for sale
$55.00 - A Montana producer selling more than $5,000 worth of seed he/she produced on his/her farm
Seed Annual Inspection
Fees: $0.20 per $100.00 gross annual sales
*Licenses are issued annually with renewal on July 1st each year.
NOTES:
Any person whose name and address appear on the label of agricultural seed sold in Montana shall obtain a seed labeler's license before doing business in Montana.
Any person who sells agricultural seed in Montana shall obtain a seed dealer's license from the department for each place where seed is located or sold.
Any person who sells and or labels seed that he or she produces, and has gross annual sales of $5,000.00 or more, shall obtain a Montana seed growers license.
