Technical Services Bureau
The Technical Services Bureau provides Licensing and Registration in 12 program areas: Alfalfa Leaf Cutter Bee Registration, Apiary Registration, Commodity, Seed Dealer and Public Warehousemen Licensing, Feed Product Registration, Feed Sales License, Fertilizer Product Registration, Fertilizer Sales License, Pesticide Products Registration, Pesticide Applicator and Dealer License, Produce Sales License, Nursery Stock Sales License, and Seed Sale License .
The Technical Services Bureau is responsible for several Pesticide Program areas:
Pest management services are offered in the areas of Weed, Disease, Insect and Vertebrate pests.
The Technical Services Bureau provides licensing and certification of Pesticide Applicators and Dealers by offering Department sponsored training programs or approving industry sponsored training programs for recertification credit.
The Bureau conducts programs on Endangered Species Protection, Ground Water Protection and Monitoring and Pesticide Disposal. The Technical Services Bureau conducts Cooperative Agricultural Pest Surveys (CAPS), coordinates Special Pesticide Registrations for Section 18 and 24(c) registrations and offers training and education in the Worker Protection Standards to protect agricultural workers from pesticide exposure. The Noxious Weed Trust Fund, which provides grants to fund research and control projects for noxious management (including the Invaders Database), is operated in the Bureau.
The Technical Services Bureau also conducts programs in Mint and Mint Oil Production, Noxious Weed Seed Free Forage Production and Apiary Management.
