Central Services Division
The Central Services Division provides accounting, budgeting, computer
programming, fiscal management, human resource, payroll and benefit, public
information, purchasing, property control, records management, security
access, systems analysis, training, website administration and legal support
to all programs within the department.
The division assists management and staff of the Montana Department of Agriculture in meeting the department’s mission by providing efficient, knowledgeable, and cost-effective customer service.
Objectives include:
- assisting the director, as the department's ambassador, to enhance and expand Montana's agricultural industry through activities that promote private/public sector partnerships to increase domestic and international sales.
- developing, interpreting and maintaining policies and procedures that are responsive to the needs of the department and which comply with state and federal regulations;
- providing timely and courteous delivery of high-quality services;
- monitoring recruitment and selection to ensure a professional, diverse, and responsible workforce;
- coordinating training opportunities to enhance the skills and expertise of staff; and
- providing systems analysis, programming, networking and data processing expertise and information necessary to meet current and future information technology needs and security criteria.
