Monarchs & Milkweed: Creating Space For Pollinators presentation Wednesday, October 18 in Helena

Monarch butterfly populations are in decline, largely due to a decline in habitat, specifically – milkweed. Join Montana WILD and the Endangered Species Coalition to create a “Monarch Waystation” by planting native milkweed around the Center. Biologist Glenn Marangelo from the Missoula Insectarium will give a short presentation on the life history and conservation status of the N. American monarch butterfly, after we create new habitat.

BOZEMAN - Tuesday marked the first ever Montana Food Show in Bozeman. Hosted by the Montana Department of Agriculture this food show featured more than 40 vendors. The goal for this food show was to get more Montana foods and beverages on Montana plates and in Montana glasses.

Helena, Mont. – October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate connections happening all over the country between schools and local food producers. From the Trout to Tray program in Livingston, to the Garden to Cafeteria program in Hindsale, to Harvest of the Month taste tests in Geyser, there are great farm to school partnerships in every region of Montana.

Montana Food Show set for October 10th in Bozeman

Bozeman, Mont. – The Montana Department of Agriculture (MDA) will be hosting the first annual Montana Food Show in Bozeman at the Best Western Plus GranTree Inn on Tuesday October 10, 2017. More than 40 Montana fresh produce, meat, food and spirit companies will be showcasing their products to both professional buyers and the general public, with the goal of getting more Montana foods and beverages on Montana plates and in Montana glasses.
