Training opportunities for commercial, non-commercial, government and utility pesticide applicators and dealers can be found on the Approved Courses website, which also provides online registration or contact information to sign up for courses. The site also enables licensed applicators to keep track of required recertification credits. A detailed instructions link is provided.
The department offers initial training courses during February and March to provide new applicators and dealers basic information about laws and regulations, licensing processes, pest management, and pesticide safety and use.
In 2013, the three-day course will be held in Helena on February 25-28 and in Billings on March 18-21. Licensing exams are offered at the end of the training. Download a mail-in registration form and agenda for Helena or Billings, or register online at the Approved Courses website linked below.
Additional licensing information and a list of available training manuals can be obtained from the instructions document linked below.
Commercial and related pesticide applicators and dealers are required to requalify for licensing prior to every fifth licensing year. The recertification and renewal chart linked below contains recertification periods for each pesticide category. There are two ways to requalify:
An applicator can attend approved industry-sponsored training or department-sponsored training, and each individual is responsible for monitoring and obtain the necessary 12 credits within the recertification period.
