Tiffany Melby, who grew up on a wheat and cattle farm on Montana’s Hi-Line 70 miles west of Havre, came to Bear Paw Development Corporation as the Food and Ag Development Center manager in December 2011. Tiffany began her career at Waddell and Reed, an asset management and financial planning company, after graduating from MSU-Billings. She also spent five years at Farm Credit Services because it got her closer to her agricultural roots. From there she went on to earn an MBA from U of M.
Because value-added agriculture is such a diverse field, being able to see such variety makes Tiffany’s job really interesting. She loves what she does—helping her business clients with their ideas and dreams and feeling the excitement in their achievements—selling the first product, figuring out the market, or hitting other milestones. "I really enjoy guiding clients through the process," says Tiffany. "I enjoy working with numbers, too." Tiffany points out that one of the great things about the Food and Agricultural Development Network is that each center specializes in different areas, “so we can work together to provide the best help possible.”
