The beekeeper program includes the apiary program and the alfalfa leaf-cutting bee program. There are approximately 200 registered beekeepers in Montana, with 86 of those classified as commercial beekeepers.
Montana also has about 36 migratory beekeepers that travel to California, Oregon, Washington and other states to provide pollination services to almond, orange, apple and other crop producers in those states.
The Apiary website contains information on bee locations, health certificates, and fee requirements. While the alfalfa leaf-cutter website provides background and contact information on leaf-cutter bees.
