The Montana Department of Agriculture operates several programs designed to enhance and further develop the state's No. 1 industry while protecting consumers, producers and the environment.
Regulatory programs include registration and labeling of feed, seed, fertilizer and pesticide products as well as training, licensing and certifying various agriculture professionals including certified organic farmers, ranchers and food processors. On the development side, the department provides educational opportunities and other assistance to individuals and businesses seeking to process and market agricultural products.
