HELENA, Mont. — Looking to buy or sell hay? Trying to find a source for certified organic crops or food items? There are new Web applications for that, along with new listings for Montana-licensed fertilizer products and businesses.
The Montana Department of Agriculture has been converting existing Web applications and creating new ones to automatically pull relevant information directly from databases maintained for licensing, registration and certification services.
In the case of the department's Hay Hotline, the website enables those seeking to buy or sell hay to submit information for the website directly from their computers, as well as a date to remove the request if they wish. More flexible search capability will provide users with more refined and targeted results.
Purchasers of organic crops and products will find the new Web list for certified organic producers and handlers easier to navigate and search for specific products or businesses. Customers seeking fertilizer products will find a web tool to search by product name or company.
The Web pages can be found from menus at the department's homepage,
